This is an exciting opportunity to join the Specialist Projects team in the Policy and International Health Directorate of Public Health Wales, a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on Investment for Health and Well-being. The team develops public health knowledge through quantitative and qualitative research including population surveys, systematic reviews, evidencesyntheses and evaluations. As a Public Health Research Officer, you will provide research support across a range of projects examining complex public health challenges in Wales and internationally. A key part of the role will include literature review, evidence synthesis, policy review and case study development on social isolation,loneliness and social connection.

Main duties of the job

Experience of conducting literature reviews, including using search strategies, selecting studies, and extracting and synthesising study findings. Able to critically appraise study information and data sources. Able to convert health data into information with minimal supervision, including data collection, data quality audit, analysis and synthesis, and reporting through to dissemination. Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Experience of quantitative data analysis using various software packages, including Excel and SPSS. Excellent verbal and written communication skills The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
