Job summary

We are looking for a friendly approachable, polite, and efficient experienced GPreceptionist to come and join our friendly team

Main duties of the job

Project a positive and welcoming image to patients and other visitors,either in person or on the telephone.

Receive, assist, and direct patients to the appropriate service orhealthcare professional in a courteous and practical way.

Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smoothrunning of the practice including the provision of clerical and secretarialsupport members of the practice team.

Support effective communication between patients, members of the widerprimary health care team, secondary care, community health teams and all otherassociated health and social care agencies involved in patient care.

Contribute to the amount of reception and admin cover so that it issufficient that all daily, weekly, and regular tasks are and remain up-to-dateand patients needs are met.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of thepractice reception and administration team may include any or all the items inthe following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under appropriateline management, dependent on current and evolving practice workload, staffinglevels and necessary internal and external changes: always Maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of all practiceprocedures Opening up/closing and locking up of practice premises and maintainingsecurity in accordance with practice protocols and equipment Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits andtelephone consultations and ensuring callers are suitably advised and/ordirected to the most appropriate healthcare professional to meet their need asassessed through accurate two-way communication Taking messages and passing on information in an accurate and timelymanner with regard to urgency, confidentiality and providing answers/replieswherever appropriate for internal and external two-way communication Initiating contact with and responding to requests from members of thepractice team, patients, the wider primary healthcare team and associatedhealth and social care agencies and providers Always Adhering to the information governance requirements of the NHS Providing administrative/clerical assistance as required to include, the useof email, the internet, word/data processing, filing, photocopying, and scanning. Keeping all areas tidy and clear of any unnecessary or out-of-date itemsin the reception area, patients' seating area, and entrances to the practice,together with noticeboards and leaflet dispensers. Qualifications

Essential

GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths Must have PC skills will be able to use basic Word, Excel, and e-mail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
