Primary Purpose:
To overseeconstruction projects from conception to completion while workingin conjunction with the Operations Department and Field Operationsteams. Direct report to Operations Manager reports to GeneralSuperintendent and President
Typical Duties:
Responsible for meeting project milestones and deadlines andmaintain an accurate schedule
Maintaining anaccurate project budget
Responding tocustomer/owners requests and concerns
Negotiating and purchasing project equipment materials andsubcontracts
Scheduling and ProjectProfitability for Mechanical Plumbing and Pipingsystems
Coordination and Oversight ofproject team
Feeds field operations of assignedprojects with necessary schedule documents budget and all otherrelevant project information
Prepares anddeliver reports to the operations department regarding budgetinformation manpower status requirements and overall projectwellbeing
Identify and mange risks to ensuremilestone activities are met in a safe workingenvironment
Develop and implement solutions toidentified mechanical plumbing and/or piping to problems withproject team
Assist in coordinating anddirecting subcontractors inspectors and contract officepersonnel.
Coordinates with other departmentsincluding safety drafting preconstruction/estimating andappropriate managers and staff elements.
Manages accounts receivable for assigned projects to ensure timelypayments are made
Requirements:
10 years experience successfullymanaging mechanical and plumbing projects in the medicalpharmaceutical industrial and heavy commercial marketsegments
Tracks and manages budgetsfor assigned projects.
Responsible fordeveloping and updating project schedules; facilitating planningand design processes; coordinating design reviews; facilitating thesolicitation negotiation and award of assigned projects.
Estimate and administer change orders and/or work withinan estimating team to create change orders
Engages with the Engineering Team and customers throughout theproject coordinating and assisting in the development of projectrequirements scopes of work drawings cost estimates Requests forInformation technical evaluations and other project relateddocuments as required by the contract.
Ensureprojects meet validated specification and coderequirements.
Serves as the design andconstruction liaison with the owners as required.
Maintains current project documents and data for assignedprojects.
Manage multiple projects duringconstruction.
Attend construction meetings anddocument company action items
Assists insolving problems that arise during construction and the preparationof contract related documents required during construction suchresponses to Requests for Information and Change Orders.
Keeps current on relevant codes and industrypractices.
Uses computers/computer softwaresuch as information management s systems scheduling programsspreadsheets and project tracking programs to solve engineeringproblems and facilitate work.
Reasonable formanaging the close out meeting after the project iscomplete
Makes sure the job tree or similarfile management structure has all the necessary informationincluding close out documentation. (Asbuilt drawings O&MManuals Warranty information etc.)
Maintain anappearance of professionalism through appropriate dress attirelanguage and demeanor.
