This role is only open to applicants that currently work within an NHS Trust within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (HIOW ICS)
The role of the Health Care Support Worker is to assist and support the qualified health professionals in the delivery of safe patient care. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate health care to the patients of the Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust is the most important objective for the organisation.
Main duties of the job
To support the qualified practitioners in the delivery of high standard patient care, this includes:
Providing effective evidence-based care for patients referred to the service under the direct supervision of qualified practitioners. To assist in the provision of individualised clinical care for all private patients, under the supervision of the qualified nurse and others in the Health Care Professional Team. To ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all patients, relatives and colleagues with respect, dignity, compassion, and courtesy in accordance with Trust values. To complete the Band 2 care certificate competency framework within the identified time scale. Following the successful completion of the competency framework the Clinical Support Worker will ensure that they always act within their sphere of competence and be confident and accountable for their actions.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Assisting the nurses with the day to day running of the outpatient clinic. Setting up clinic for consultants, including daily equipment checks in line with trust policy Carrying out phlebotomy duties and cannulation, bladder scanning, uroflow and the like Chaperoning patients in consultations Stock ordering and rotation, maintaining safe stock levels in the clinic. Assisting with the paediatric clinic including play, distraction and supporting the paediatric nurse in the running of the clinic. Assisting consultants from all specialists in the smooth running of the clinic. Diary management including booking patients for procedures. Supporting the team with teaching and education especially other HCAs/new team members. Person Specification
Training and qualification
Essential
Literacy level 1 or equivalent (GCSE D-G). Numeracy level 1 or equivalent (GCSE D-G) ESOL level 1 or equivalent (if English not first language).
Desirable
IT literate Literacy level 2 or equivalent (GCSE A-C). Numeracy level 2 or equivalent (GCSE A-C). ESOL level 2 or equivalent (if English not first language) NVQ level 2 or equivalent or above in Health or Health and Social Care or working towards an award
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
Previous experience in a Health/Health and Social Care role Able to demonstrate current knowledge and identify own learning needs

Previous NHS experience Understanding NHS/Social care systems
