Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of our students, working closely with the teaching staff to ensure a positive and engaging learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of additional needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral support strategies.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver a cohesive learning experience.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources tailored to students' specific needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young adults in an educational setting, preferably within a specialist provision.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality within the classroom.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable but not essential.
