Schedule: 7 AM3 PMMondayFriday
Job SummaryResponsible for operating a mail inserter and maintainingaccurate records of postal meter logs and production reports. Tasksinvolve manual recordkeeping updating logs and maintaining stocklogs.
Detailed Statement of Duties andResponsibilities- MailPreparation and Handling: Prepare post and account fordeliverables requiring special handling due to unique sizes orshapes. Operate various types of machines including differentinserters.
- DeadlineManagement: Ensure daily weekly and monthly mailingdeadlines are met in a deadlinedriven print shopenvironment.
- MailProcessing: Process distribute and pick up mail forcustomer agencies efficiently. Handle mail pickup from the elevatordistribution and postage metering.
- Machine Operation and Maintenance:Operate mailinserting machines perform preventive maintenance andmake corrective adjustments. Keep the area clean and alert thesupervisor about supply needs.
- Quality Assurance: Follow QA/QCprocedures to deliver highquality service. Comprehend andaccurately complete job orders asking questions if requirements areunclear.
- InventoryManagement: Assist in maintaining mailroom inventory andnotify the supervisor when supplies are low.
- Leadership Responsibilities: Assumeclerical and operational responsibilities of the Mailing Servicesgroup leader in the supervisors absence. Manage time organizeincoming jobs and ensure work is completed.
- Compliance: Understand and comply withall standards including special training for Department of Revenuejobs requiring high security.
- Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibilityin accepting assignments and taking initiative whenneeded.
- Training: The departmentprovides thorough training until the employee is confident. Lookingfor someone eager to learn and engage in training.
- Work Environment: The job is in amachine room with printing inserting and mailing equipmentoperating on two floors. It is a noisy environment but headphones(noisecancelling or music) are allowed.
- Physical Requirements: Requiresstanding for most of the day while operating equipment withmultiple breaks.
- Massachusetts ClassD Drivers License.
- Ability to consistentlycomplete tasks promptly.
- Demonstrated abilityto uncover and correct errors before distribution.
- Effective communication skills for transmitting receivingand interpreting information.
- Enjoyment of afastpaced environment confidence in asking questions and ability towork individually or in a team.
- Competency inbasic computer skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite(Excel and Word); beginner to advanced beginner level isacceptable.
- Proven customer service skillsprimarily on the telephone.
- Ability to liftand/or push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must passfingerprinting and security screening due to Department of Revenuerequirements.
- Experience in office workincluding processing incoming and/or outgoing mail.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques used in machineoperations adjustments and care.
