The post holder will work across all hospital group sites supporting the communication and engagement teams at both trusts and the hospital group project team.

Main duties of the job

The design team play a vital role in developing, implementing and evaluating communication strategies and plans to support the successful delivery of the Group's strategic objectives and services. This post holder supports this team and will:

Work under the guidance of the design communications manager to ensure the delivery of a range of designs for publications, patient information, social media, digital content and short filming projects, that will feature across multiple channels. The postholder will be able to establish positive working relationships quickly at all levels of the organisation and manage a busy workload, responding to conflicting priorities as required. The postholder will be based at James Cook University Hospital and the University Hospital of North Tees with the ability to work across all Group and external sites as needed. Contribute to supporting the development of effective communication throughout the organisation. Promote a positive image of the design and communications team and the wider Group at all times.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Assist design and layout of communication materials such as publications, leaflets, posters, social media, intranet and website banners and digital content including videography

Apply the Groups visual identity and brand across all communications work

Deliver digital communications efficiently and effectively, with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations to ensure targets are met to a high standard, and on time

Help produce clear, accessible, understandable patient information, working with relevant services

Support on integrated communications campaigns, working closely with team colleagues and other services

Administer the process for approving and reviewing patient information to ensure it is up to date and meets patient needs and legal requirements

Deliver and coordinate the production of audio/visual content, ensuring a high standard of work at all times. This includes, patient information, promotional content for services, developments and events.

Using communications equipment, such as recording equipment (camera and video).

Prioritising and managing own workload in liaison with design and communication teams to ensure that an efficient and effective service is provided.

Support emergency planning communication arrangements, taking an active role in supporting the team during any major incident. Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential

Proficient in the use of design software such as Adobe suite/ InDesign with experience of laying out standard leaflets, posters and supporting marketing materials Proficient in the use of videography equipment and software such as PremierPro to support the team with the creation of high-quality video content Up to date knowledge of current communication channels (including digital and social media) and how to use them effectively IT skills including content management systems, spreadsheets and databases Good organisational skills Maintain concentration and attention to detail whilst also dealing effectively with interruptions Work on own initiative, prioritise work and consistently meet deadlines

Desirable

Knowledge of website, intranet and app systems. Experience in using Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint

Experience

Essential
