ICT Helpdesk Technician

Bath College is looking for a new ICT Helpdesk Technician to join its dynamic ICT & Learning Resources team. If you’re tech-savvy, highly organised, and an excellent communicator, you’ll be able to join our friendly team during an exciting period of transformation across our digital estate.
Our technician team delivers high-quality customer service to students and staff to support effective use of a wide range of IT services. Day-to-day you’ll be handling incidents and requests through our ticketing system, over the phone, and in person at our campuses in Bath and Radstock. You’ll also play a key role in delivery of hardware, software and networking improvements across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide frontline ICT support services for the college
- Answer the ICT support telephone line, recording and dealing with requests and informing users of proposed steps for resolution of fault.
- Where possible perform tasks to resolve faults.
- Seek advice on possible resolutions and where necessary hand over problems to ICT Engineers.
- Monitor the service desk system for new requests and act upon or assign requests as necessary.
- Deal with Staff and Student queries in person at the ICT support desk.
- Ensure all service requests are logged in the helpdesk system with all information required.
- Periodically update key users of progress towards resolution on major issues.
- Support the duties of the ICT Helpdesk students to ensure good levels of service from the first line ICT support.
- Deliver Staff induction briefings for new staff.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
- Knowledge of using and configuring Microsoft Windows operating systems including Windows 10
- Knowledge of computer hardware and networking
- Confident with Microsoft Office 365 including Office Suite and Teams
