DescriptionSefton Sixth Form College is currently seeking a Lecturer in A Level Law to join our team.  Sefton Sixth Form College is a sixth form college in Litherland, Sefton. It is a part of Hugh Baird College and was formerly known as the Hugh Baird College South Sefton Campus. The Sixth Form was founded in 2009, and is a vibrant, state-of-the-art campus offering an extensive choice of A-level subjects, as well as a small number of BTEC and GCSE courses. The campus is located approximately 7 miles away from Liverpool City Centre.
Key Responsibilities- Teach A level Law at our Sefton Sixth Form College campus.- Implement appropriate feedback and assessment systems to accurately check learning, adapting teaching as required to ensure learner progress.- Deliver lessons which align with our TLA Principles.- Contribute to curriculum innovation, development, and implementation.- Maintain a professional learning environment in the classroom consistently implementing our ABC expectations and supportive processes as required.- Maintain and update teaching expertise and skills to continually develop your teaching practice and deliver the best outcomes for learners.- Contribute to the delivery of our enhancement programme.
Criteria
  • Possess a degree in Law or a related subject.  
  • Possess a PGCE/Certificate of education or equivalent teaching qualification. 
  • Possess a qualification in Maths and English levels 4 – 9 (GCSE Grades A – C) or equivalent.  
  • Track record of successful teaching experience within a Sixth Form setting, preferably teaching A level Law.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant course subject matter and examination and assessment requirements.
  • Understanding of value added and the use of progress performance measures.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining external partnerships to enrich teaching and learning.
