Job overview

We are looking for a Band 5 Podiatrist in NELFT who is both enthusiastic and highly motivated who wishes to progress to a Band 6. 


We are a forward thinking, busy service providing Podiatry in a variety of locations including community, hospital and domiciliary settings across Redbridge & Waltham Forest. The population that we serve are both multi-cultural and diverse. 

Our client base is primarily high-risk and you will be responsible for treatment planning for foot complications associated with diabetic, rheumatoid and vascular / ischaemic long-term conditions. 

We are committed to CPD and training initiatives to achieve personal as well as service objectives.

In addition you will be given the opportunity to develop a special clinical interest by rotation into one of the specialist areas such as Woundcare, Biomechanics or Nail Surgery.

We also support the training of Podiatry students from the University of East London.

We are specifically looking for Podiatrists who:

•Are flexible and can demonstrate initiative, and enjoy working as part of a team.
•Have good organisational and clinical skills, and are keen to support clinical excellence by developing "best practice".
•Are committed to robust treatment planning and patient discharge.
•Are keen to undertake audit and research.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for general podiatric services and will act as a Podiatrist in NELFT and will be clinically responsible for community and domiciliary services provided to patients in NELFT,
primarily based in Redbridge & Waltham Forest.

Will undertake a predominantly high risk clinical role at any locality according to current priority / demand on the service including assessment and treatment of patients with multiple pathologies formulating treatment plans based on clinical findings.

Have a commitment to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with podiatrists in the acute setting and other health and social care professionals and agencies both within the organisation and externally as required.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – London

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).
