Job Title: Employability Tutor
Responsible to: Quality Manager
Purpose of Job:
To design, prepare, and deliver engaging and innovative teaching sessions within the curriculum aimed at adult learners, helping to meet their unique needs and guiding them towards further education, training, or employment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality and creative teaching sessions that engage, inspire, and motivate learners to address their individual learning needs and encourage them to reach their full potential.
- Utilize initial assessments and marked work to identify and address the specific needs of each learner.
- Implement effective strategies to ensure the safety of learners online and to help them develop their understanding of online risks, enabling them to protect themselves and others.
- Deliver comprehensive Careers Information, Education, Advice, and Guidance (CIEAG), utilizing information obtained during enrolment and induction to customize learning plans according to individual learner needs.
- Provide thorough assessments and constructive feedback by rigorously marking learners’ work and delivering structured verbal and written feedback that highlights steps for improvement.
- Consistently deliver high-quality teaching sessions to ensure an excellent learner experience, leading to strong achievement and progression outcomes.
- Foster the development of broader work-related skills by conducting thorough job search sessions and embedding essential work-related skills into teaching activities.
- Enhance learners’ digital capabilities, helping them to build confidence in using ICT tools to support everyday tasks and to assist in their future advancement.
- Complete all necessary documentation and records related to learners’ training, progress, and achievements accurately and promptly, including:
- Learner Reviews
- Start of Learning Forms
- Attendance Records
- Action Plans/Feedback
- Other contractual paperwork
- Learner Reviews
- Integrate safeguarding, British values, Prevent duty awareness, equality and diversity, and health and safety considerations into the learning program.
- Support learners in developing their confidence, resilience, and understanding to maintain mental well-being.
- Keep sector-specific knowledge current and relevant through continuous professional development.
- Travel to various delivery sites across the country, with the main base located at the Head Office in South Yorkshire.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- A recognized teaching qualification, such as PGCE/Cert ED or equivalent.
- L3 Assessor Award or equivalent.
- GCSE Grade C in English and Maths or FS Level 2.
- IAG Level 2 or a willingness to work towards obtaining it.
- Proficient ICT skills.
- Experience working with unemployed adults in an educational environment.
- Experience with roll-on/roll-off delivery models.
- Ability to design and deliver innovative and motivational sessions focused on individual learner needs.
- Understanding of initial assessment processes and the ability to use this information to guide teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
- Familiarity with different learning styles and the ability to differentiate teaching methods accordingly.
- Capability to motivate oneself and learners effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads efficiently.
- Initiative and flexibility in approach.
- Collaborative team-working skills.
- Full driving license, with national travel required.
All candidates must have access to their own vehicle with business insurance. Travel is expected, and expenses are reimbursed on a fortnightly basis.
