Music Teacher - Reading

Permanent, expected to work Full-Time hours

£120 - £180 Per day

Job Duties:
  • Plan and deliver engaging music lessons to students at the assigned educational institution.
  • Develop and implement music curriculum that meets the educational needs and abilities of students.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and support to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Organise and oversee music-related activities such as concerts, recitals, and competitions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in playing at least one musical instrument.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proven experience in teaching music to students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of music theory, history, and different musical genres.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that fosters musical creativity.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Music Education or related field.
  • Experience in organising music-related events and performances.
  • Additional certifications or training in music therapy or special education.
Working Conditions:
  • Work primarily within school hours, but may require additional hours for lesson planning and extracurricular activities.
  • Interact with students, colleagues, and parents in a classroom and performance setting.
  • Utilise music equipment and instruments to deliver lessons effectively.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
