A highly reputable and large Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Second-in-Charge of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) specializing in French, to join their thriving school community in Southwark. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed educator to play a key role in the development and success of the MFL department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of MFL in leading and managing the department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and the development of innovative teaching practices.
  • Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of student progress and attainment.
  • Mentor and support other members of the MFL department.
  • Teach French across a range of age groups and abilities.
  • Engage with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive and inclusive school environment.

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching French in a secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in a similar role or as an aspiring leader.
  • A strong understanding of curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students and staff alike.

Desirable:

  • Experience with other Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Previous involvement in extracurricular activities related to MFL.
  • A passion for promoting cultural awareness and diversity through language education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
