Our client is a rapidly growing flood risk, water and environment business with an industry recognised leadership team. They are looking to recruit a team member within the flood risk and modelling team after continued success in our existing work and multiple recent project wins. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow the team with progression up to Director level.
The consultancy consists of fully remote teams with colleagues situated across the country, including London, Birmingham and Edinburgh - but don't worry, they still provide opportunities to socialise with colleagues throughout the year They offer complete flexibility, providing you with the opportunity to set your own hours. They are also trialling unlimited annual leave (previous allowance 25 days) and look to our employees to shape the way we work.
About the RoleThe company is involved in a variety of projects, including both public and private sector work. Current projects include flood defences, strategic infrastructure, and private developments. You will become a key member of the existing consulting team, providing support in the delivery of these projects including the production of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies. In-house training will allow you to grow into a well-rounded Flood Risk Consultant and explore any specialisms you may be interested in.
Required:- Bachelor's degree in either Geography, Environmental Management, or Engineering.
- A minimum of three years industry experience.
- The ability to write clear, concise, and technically accurate reports.
- Knowledge of the drainage hierarchy and experience in undertaking drainage assessments and design using Causeway, MicroDrainage or other relevant software.
- Ability to undertake drainage strategies both outline and detailed.
- GIS experience using software such as ArcMap, QGIS, or MapInfo.
- Willingness to develop skills in hydrology, or modelling and become a well-rounded flood risk consultant
