Position Title:  Deputy Director Social Care
Location:  London Fields (NCB promotes a hybrid, flexible way of working. Staff can work remotely for part of the week if they wish and in the office or face to face for 2 days per week)
Status:  Full Time -35 hours (open to part time 28 hours a week),Permanent 
Salary:  £70,417 , other benefits include 30 days holiday plus bank holidays (and an additional 3 days leave for Christmas org-wide shut down)

For 60 years the National Children’s Bureau (NCB) has been building a better childhood for all.

We are looking for a Deputy Director to lead on delivery of our Social Care strategy and programme work. This is an exciting new opportunity that has been created in response to our growing portfolio of work in this area. This varied role will lead our exciting programmes of work across children and young people’s social care including a national contract upskilling supported accommodation providers on participation of children and young people with SEND and a new programme delivering trauma informed training to foster carers.

The successful candidate will be a leader in the field of children and young people’s social care with a clear vision of how best to support the workforce and therefore children and young people, including those with SEND.

Excellent leadership, people and programme management and communication skills are essential for this role as are strong IT and writing skills, along with experience of managing contracts. The portfolio includes oversight of the Council for Disabled Children’s stakeholder engagement and communication strategy and experience in this field would be an advantage.

You need to have a comprehensive understanding of and interest in the systems and services that support good social care support for children, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be both a leader and a team player.
