The BASF Agricultural Specialities Limited production site in Littlehampton, produces industry leading biological pest control products formulated from beneficial nematodes. These products are used by farmers and growers across the globe in agricultural, protected ornamental and home and garden markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As Formulation Operator your responsibilities will include:
Operating and maintaining various types of equipment in downstream processing and utilities, including wash tank, centrifuges, filters, blending equipment. Conducting nematode filtration and formulation activities, playing a key part in optimizing the quality and effectiveness of our nematode-based products. Conducting CIP (Clean-in-Place) procedures, ensuring the cleanliness and optimal functioning of our equipment through thorough cleaning, rinsing, and sterilization. Your attention to detail and adherence to strict cleaning procedures will play a crucial role in preventing contamination and ensuring the integrity of our processes. Assisting with the packing of nematodes and liquid inoculum ready to be distributed to our customers and partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
2-3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment and have a mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of machinery/equipment and requirements for operating and maintaining them e.g. pumps, mixers, valves etc. Knowledge and implementation of Lean/modern manufacturing principles is an advantage. Educated to GCSE Level (including Maths, English and ideally a science with Grade 5) or equivalent. Ability to work accurately and quickly in a time target pressured environment without close supervision. Following written procedures, safety compliance and demonstrating good attention to detail. Must be computer literate.
