Main duties of the job

To greet patients in an appropriate manner, payingattention to the particular needs of the patients and recognising the anxietieswhich are often associated with a visit to the practice

To ensure that patients are greeted and handled withrespect

To follow practice Confidentiality Policy at all times

Prepare for forthcoming surgeries students, CDMclinics

Ensure the waiting areas are organised, tidied and litto the benefit of all patients

Check for overdue interventions and/or diary entriesand make appointment with the appropriate clinician as directed by ClinicalAdministration Team

Electronicfiling of identified documents as and when appropriate

To sort & assign requests for clinicalintervention via AccuRX and to take and process requests from patients withoutinternet access via telephone, by email and internet

To accept requests for home visits according to thepractice policy

To receive and process repeat prescription requests

To record messages accurately and ensure they havebeen acknowledged according to practice policy

To accept requests for repeat prescriptions and issueas appropriate in line with practice policy

To ensure that all tasks in the Receptionist Pool arecompleted by the end of your shift

To liaise with colleagues regarding annual and or sickleave cover

Any additional duties as may arise

Job responsibilities

To follow practice Confidentiality Policy at all times

Ensure that the patient has been given a New PatientHealth Check appointment and a current Practice Leaflet

Telephone for results as requested

To ensure that all tasks in the Receptionist Pool arecompleted by the end of your shift

Arrange ambulance bookings and advocates for patients

To liaise with colleagues regarding annual and or sickleave cover

Any additional duties as may arise
