Woking, United Kingdom Capgemini Full time

About the job you're considering

You will combine your experience in architecting, costing, and delivering infrastructure and cloud solutions with your skills and credibility to lead some of the best technical teams in the business. You will take accountability for ensuring that the end-to-end solutions we create for our customers fulfil their expectations of high quality and cost-effectiveness. An appreciation of all aspects of project delivery would be an advantage.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

We are looking for Cloud Architects from various backgrounds – infrastructure & cloud engineering, technical or enterprise architecture. The role would suit someone who wants to take a strategic approach to infrastructure & cloud platform design and delivery. The work we do with our clients varies in size, shape, and complexity – so we would welcome applications from those who are ready to step into a lead role, as well as those who are more experienced.
As a Cloud Architect, you will get exposure to the following types of projects and roles:
• Programme Delivery Architect – We deliver large programmes of work for our clients, for which we mobilise a large team that often includes engagement managers, architects, engineers, testers, and business analysts. As the Lead Architect, your role is to help manage the technical delivery of a programme of work, working closely with an Engagement Manager and a team of architects across multiple projects. Your role will be to ensure the programme of work is delivered efficiently, interfacing with key client stakeholders and providing architectural leadership and governance across the programme.
• Project Delivery Architect – we also deliver projects for clients, for which we mobilise smaller teams (Engagement Managers, Engineers) to deliver the outcomes our client needs. As the Lead Architect, you will often own the development of key project artefacts (solution architectures, technical architectures, high-level designs, migration sequencing, roll-out approaches) and help manage the day-to-day activities of technical architects & engineers whilst working closely with key client stakeholders.

You can bring your whole self to work. At Capgemini, striving for equity, diversity, and inclusion is part of everyday life, and will be part of your working reality. We have built an inclusive and welcoming environment, for everyone.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for cloud architects seeking to develop their careers who have a good grounding in the following areas and senior candidates who can demonstrate a majority of the following areas of expertise.

Solid understanding of the infrastructure & cloud domains in areas such as data centres, virtualisation, networks, data storage, landing zones and high-availability application architectures.  Experience with market-leading technologies such as Kubernetes and cloud technologies, including AWS and Azure, would be an advantage.  Experience in leading the solution design and implementation of infrastructure and cloud projects.  Helping to manage dependencies, risks, and requirements between stakeholders in the change delivery. Good all-round understanding of architecture frameworks, architecture artefacts and governance. Knowledge of project costing, estimating and commercial awareness  Architectural appreciation of operability, reliability, security, performance, and sustainability (in the context of infrastructure and cloud platform architectures). Coach and mentor other team members to share knowledge and experience and help grow the team.

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain .
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.

What does 'Get the future you want' mean for you?

You will be empowered to explore, innovate, and progress. You will benefit from Capgemini’s ‘learning for life’ mindset, meaning you will have countless training and development opportunities from thinktanks to hackathons, and access to 250,000 courses with numerous external certifications from AWS, Microsoft, Harvard ManageMentor, Cybersecurity qualifications and much more.
You’ll be bringing your unique skills and perspectives to the team, inspiring and taking inspiration from your teammates as you unlock value in everything you do. You’ll be joining a professional community of experts, who have got your back and will support you, every step of the way.
