One of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Community Mission Development Lead, to manage & develop the existing church mission and outreach programmes. We aim to serve and support those in the local and wider community, irrespective of their background, providing safe spaces where all people are loved, nurtured, encouraged, and supported to become the people God wants them to be.

Key Responsibilities: 

Meeting the needs of the local community, providing a pathway for people to access and integrate into the church. Manage the day-today operation of the community centre’s activities in line with relevant legislation, best practices, and the aims & policies of the Salvation Army. Manage the running of the community café, including ordering food, maintaining equipment and being available to support pastorally & practically those coming in seeking assistance. Assess the needs of the community and make recommendations for the overall community centre programme agenda in alignment with the Corps Mission Journal. Plan, design, implement and evaluate specific programmes to ensure they are fit for purpose for the local community.

The successful candidate(s) will: 

A strong, vibrant Christian faith & be a practising Christian. Excellent interpersonal skills. A passion to support people. The ability to work efficiently as part of a team.

There is an Occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian.
