Aninternational law firm is actively recruiting an experiencedlitigation paralegal to support the firms Products & Mass Tortpractice in its Richmond VA office. This position assists lawyersand practice advisors with preparation of complex legal documentsmidlevel legal research activities and other tasks related to theProducts & Mass Tort practice area. Responsibilities
  • Generates revenue by meeting billable hour and othertimekeeping expectations set forth by the firm.
  • Proactively secures billable work collaborating acrossteams and offices as needed.
  • Maintains currentand accurate daily time log; inputs time records into firms timeand accounting systems according to firm and outside counselguidelines.
  • Follows ethical requirements setforth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State where workis performed.
  • Applies intermediate knowledgeand application of Federal State and Local Rules; stays updated onrule changes and informs the team.
  • Identifiesrelevant laws judicial decisions legal articles and other materialsfor assigned cases business transactions or regulatorymatters.
  • Prepares written reports for lawyersto determine case strategies; assists with preparation of legaldocuments and supports lawyers during trials client meetingsclosings and regulatory hearings.
  • Compilesdata from reference materials such as virtual workrooms digestslegal encyclopedias and more; manages virtual workrooms andcoordinates with client representatives ondocumentation.
  • Drafts correspondence memorandaand basic legal documents for internal and external use.
  • Qualifications
  • BasicQualifications/Requirements:
  • High schooldiploma or equivalent required; college degreepreferred.
  • Paralegal certificate NationalAssociation of Legal Assistants certification or statespecificspecialty certificate preferred.
Experience:
Minimum ofthree years of paralegal or related business experience required;previous experience coordinating paralegal work or case clerkshelpful.

OtherQualifications:
  • Intermediate knowledge and application of Federal Stateand Local Rules.
  • Proficiency in MicrosoftOffice and basic technological and research skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure train others andmaintain professionalism.
  • Visual acuity fortranscription reading and inputting information into computersystems.
  • Excellent interpersonal communicationskills high stress tolerance and ability to prioritizeworkload
