I am looking for a skilled and qualified HGV Technician, in Crawley to join my client. The successful HGV Technician will be completing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a variety of heavy goods vehicles in the Crawley and West Sussex area.

Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs to ensure they are in optimal condition.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults, ensuring all work meets industry standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT tests.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify issues and perform corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs and service needs.
  • Provide accurate estimates and keep customers informed about the progress of their vehicles.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to maintain and enhance client relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used and time spent on each task.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Use computerised systems for job logging and parts ordering.
  • Work with other technicians and staff to ensure efficient workshop operations.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing training to keep up with new technologies and repair techniques.
  • Attend manufacturer training sessions as required.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Automotive/HGV qualifications are essential.
  • Valid HGV license is required.
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to use diagnostic equipment.
  • Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Good communication skills.
