As a Warehouse Operative at GPI Cambridge, you will be a crucial part of our logistics and warehouse team. Your primary responsibility is to efficiently stow away finished goods for customers, retrieve items when requested, and maintain the smooth operation of goods in and out for deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

This is a TEMP to PERM job opportunity for the right person.

Your Key Responsibilities

Goods storage: Safely and systematically store away finished goods in designated storage areas, ensuring effective organisation and inventory management.

Goods retrieval: Accurately retrieve requested items from storage when customers place orders, ensuring timely order fulfilment.

Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, conducting routine stock checks and reporting any discrepancies.

Order fulfilment: Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to process customer orders, picking and preparing items for delivery.

Packaging: Carefully package and label items for delivery, ensuring they are secure and protected during transit.

Loading & Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading delivery vehicles, ensuring the safe and efficient transfer of goods.

Documentation: Complete required paperwork for incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate records.

Customer Service: Interact with customers and delivery personnel, providing excellent service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Hygiene: Maintain exceptional hygiene standards, continuously leading by example

Flexibility: To perform such duties as is deemed reasonable by management in response to changing business circumstances.

Health & Safety: To be responsible for contributing to the #SafetyFirst culture on site

Requirements

  • VNA licence is essential - current or expired would be considered.
  • Previous experience in a Warehouse environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work harmoniously within a team.
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures in a warehouse and delivery environment.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts 
  • Proactive, flexible, can-do attitude to resolve issues and challenges
