This is an exciting post that is available from July 2024 on a 12 month fixed term contract (with potential to extend for a further 12 month period)
The Clinical duties will be based on Hazel ward - 15-bed female low secure ward at the Chichester Centre
The post-holder will work closely with the consultant psychiatrist for Hazel ward and the multi-disciplinary team members of Hazel ward.
The post holder will spend the majority of their time in clinical practice, on Hazel ward. Clinical supervision will be provided and the post-holder will be expected to work at the level appropriate to their experience and competency ( at the level of a new core trainee).

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will have special responsibility for ensuring that day to day care to the patients is provided including but not limited to the following
Attendance at Recovery Reviews (ward rounds) and CPA meetings
Clinical history taking Assessment of mental state Risk assessment and management Physical health monitoring Completing clinical tasks for the patients Participating in local teaching / training Ensuring mandatory training of the Trust is completed and up to date

Job responsibilities
The main purpose of the post is to support the Clinical team in day to day management of inpatients primarily on Hazel ward - female only low secure ward.
The post holder would be expected to provide some clinical input on other two wards at the Chichester Centre LSU, if needed. senior leaders in SPNFT medical education to deliver and exciting and inspiring undergraduate psychiatry teaching to year 3 and year 5 BSMS medical students.
. Clinical duties
Clinical duties will vary between placements over the course of the year dependent on each placement. However, general duties will be as follows:
Assessment of new patients including mental state and physical health examinations
The management of patient's mental and physical health on the inpatient units under the support of the senior medical team To work alongside the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver safe and effective patient care To clearly document clinical encounters in a timely fashion To ensure there is timely communication and liaison with other mental health services and General Practitioners regarding patient plans and changes to management To maintain a professional approach and collaborative working style with the multidisciplinary team To attend all appropriate team meetings To attend regular clinical supervision with the supervising consultant Person Specification
