Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join the quality team in a diverse and dynamic division within Cambridge University Hospital.

The division covers a range of specialities divided into business units for Acute Services (incorporating the Emergency Department), Integrated Medical Services (including Virtual Wards) and Transplant

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who is passionate and experienced in quality and patient safety, who can work flexibly to meet competing demands, working across the division to ensure the quality and compliance requirements are monitored and maintained.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the divisional team, you will support the management of good quality governance practice at divisional level. You will facilitate best practice in the management of incidents, risks and complaints and support Incident Investigations and Action Planning. The Divisional Compliance Administrator and Analyst will work closely with the Divisional Quality Manager, in conjunction with the Head of Nursing to promote, develop and implement effective quality governance across the Trust.

Specifically, you will provide multidisciplinary clinical staff with advice and information to effectively implement the principles and practice of quality governance. You will take responsibility for supporting the Divisional Quality Manager in the delivery of projects/areas of activity linked to meet the requirements of pro-active quality governance.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Educated to degree level or NVQ level 4 or equivalent. Business Admin /ITQ or equivalent professional experience may be acceptable.

Desirable

Specific technical/professional qualification in relation to healthcare.

Experience

Essential

Experience of working in office administration. Prioritising, planning and organising own and others tasks. Exemplary communication skills - including report writing and presentation of information. Experience of working to deadlines. Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to work with a wide range of professionals. Fostering collaboration and a participatory approach. Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations.

Desirable

Previous experience of working in NHS. Previous experience in compliance/quality assurance/quality control. Previous project management experience. Quality Improvement background /experience and or demonstrate understanding of good governance.

Knowledge

Essential

Confidentiality and data protection processes and procedures. Customer service. Good working knowledge of office procedures and all Microsoft office packages. Awareness of anti-discriminatory issues, equality & diversity. Knowledge of audit and compliance processes.

Desirable

Knowledge of the Clinical Governance / Patients Safety and Quality Systems. Knowledge and understanding of CQC compliance and inspection framework(s). Knowledge of Trust information systems. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
