Mental Health Support Worker

Rethink Mental Illness are hiring a Mental Health Support Worker to join our inspiring and friendly team at Rowan House, Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

1 x Full-time post available - Monday to Friday - 09.00 to 17.00 - Working occasional bank holidays.
Rowan House is an intensive support service that promotes recovery and social inclusion for adults with mental illness, helping them transition back to community living. Commissioned and regulated by Wiltshire Council, it offers a unique, time-limited, outcome-focused approach to care and support, tailored to individual needs.
How You Will Make a Difference: As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will support individuals in regaining confidence and engaging in social and workplace activities. You'll work closely with service users to achieve their personal goals and access necessary support on their recovery journey.
- Provide key worker support, including one-on-one assistance and liaising with other mental health agencies.
- Focus on individual needs, using communication, motivation, and coaching to support users in achieving their goals.
- Build rapport based on respect and honesty, maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct.
- Work with and support individuals on their Care/Recovery Plans
- Encourage service users to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect their mental wellbeing and physical health
- Carry out needs assessments of individuals choosing to engage within the service and prioritise needs effectively.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Transferable life/work experience relevant to this role.
- Good listening skills, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Charity's values.
- Experience in supporting people with mental illness or providing care/support services in a housing setting (paid or voluntary) is a plus.
- Excellent administration, organisation and planning skills.
- Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft applications, email and internet.
