Dryland Surgery is a well-established practice with a great team spirit.Our Practice population is just over 11,500 based on a single site. Weare looking to recruit a part time salaried GP undertaking 4 sessions per week tojoin our existing team. We are a very dynamic, evolving and supportivepractice.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision ofmedical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standardof clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, thepost-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice,contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example,maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with themultidisciplinary team.

About us

You will join a clinical team consisting of 3 GP Partners, 1 salariedGP, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 4Practice Nurses, 1 Nurse Associate and 1 HCA plus a broad range of establishedallied healthcare professionals.

We are part of the local GP federation and our PCN continue to provideCovid-19 Vaccination for our practice population.

We consult using SystemOne. We have excellent QOF performance and offermany specialist services.

Job Summary

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate. Provide other general medical services to meet identified patient need. Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred, or referred from other healthcare works within the organisation. Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness. Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education. Work within current ICB policy for prescribing. Be available and accessible to patients at all times as agreed. Maximise the effective use of current clinical computer systems. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to an agreed standard. Compile and issue computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand written prescriptions whenever possible). Undertake all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. To take part in, and lead on, areas including clinical auditing and data collection. Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary Provide short term emergency cover for unplanned absence of colleagues Provide emergency on call cover for the practice.

Service Development

Be involved in developing primary care services to meet the needs of the practice population. Working in close collaboration with the practice team to ensure that access targets are reached. Support health development and ensure health promotion work is undertaken to allow the practice population to make informed choices.

Managerial

Awareness of, and compliance with, all relevant organisation policies and procedures, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety and infection control. Apply these to all aspects of ones own work. Undertake all mandatory training as determined by the practice. Committed to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based practice. Contribute to evaluated audit and clinical standards setting within the organisation.

Quality

Adhere to GMC Good Medical practice.

Maintain accurate and timely medical records.

Adhere to National and local guidelines ( NICE)

Engage with local quality frameworks QoF, Quality Improvement, Prescribing Incentive Schemes

Reflect on personal practice through SEA, NHS appraisal, patient complaints

Qualifications

Essential

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team; Ability to work with limited supervision; Time management skills- ideally a proven ability to handle a primary care case load;
