Position: SEN TA

Location: Northampton

Teaching Personnel are actively recruiting for specialist special educational need teaching assistants to join our team as of September 2024 to work in schools across Northampton and surrounding areas.

About the role

The role will require you to work closely with classroom teachers providing support to students with SEN needs such as, impairments, or behavioural or emotional needs.

It will also be important for the successful candidate to foster positive relationships with parents, as well as the students and other staff members to ensure full understanding of the individual you are working with as well as attending training and professional development sessions to again enhance your knowledge, to ensure you can provide your students with the very best help and support.

Requirements

  • Experience working with SEN children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to learning
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students with special educational needs
  • Ability to Implement and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) and maintain records of student progress.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting student engagement and emotional well-being.
  • Offer emotional and behavioural support to students, demonstrating resilience in challenging situations.
  • Assist with classroom organization and management.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
