Job Title: Lead MechanicalEngineer Site Based Facility ManagementContract

PositionOverview: We are seeking a highly skilled andqualified Lead Mechanical Engineer to oversee all mechanical worksas part of a sitebased facility management contract. The idealcandidate will be mechanically qualified in the UK and possessextensive experience in supervising mechanical maintenance andrepair activities. This role requires strong leadership abilitiestechnical expertise and the ability to ensure the efficientoperation of mechanical systems within the facility. A full cleandrivers license is required as an electric van will be provided fortransportation.

KeyResponsibilities:

  1. Mechanical MaintenanceSupervision:
  • Leadand supervise all mechanical maintenance activities including HVACsystems plumbing ventilation and other mechanicalequipment.
  • Develop and implement preventativemaintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and reliabilityof mechanical systems.
  • Conduct regularinspections and assessments of mechanical equipment to identifyissues diagnose problems and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinate with maintenance technicians and externalcontractors to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion ofrepairs and maintenance activities.
TechnicalExpertise:
  • Providetechnical guidance and support to the maintenance team ontroubleshooting complex mechanical issues and resolving technicalchallenges.
  • Stay abreast of industry bestpractices regulations and technological advancements in mechanicalengineering to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness ofmaintenance operations.
  • Review and approvetechnical specifications drawings and proposals for mechanicalinstallations and upgrades.
Health and SafetyCompliance:
  • Ensurecompliance with health and safety regulations and standards in allmechanical maintenance activities.
  • Conductrisk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures tomitigate potential hazards associated with mechanical systems andequipment.
  • Promote a culture of safetyawareness and adherence to safety protocols among maintenance staffand contractors.
Documentation andReporting:
  • Maintainaccurate records of maintenance activities equipment inventory andperformance metrics.
  • Prepare detailed reportson maintenance activities including work completed issuesencountered and recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with facility management team to developbudgets forecasts and expenditure reports related to mechanicalmaintenance operations.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical qualification in the UK (e.g. Bachelors degreeor equivalent).
  • Experience in a supervisoryrole overseeing mechanical maintenance in a facility management orsimilar environment.
  • Proficient knowledge ofHVAC systems plumbing ventilation and other mechanical systemscommonly found in commercial or industrial facilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate andmentor a diverse team of maintenance technicians.
  • Excellent problemsolving abilities and technicalproficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanicalissues.
  • Knowledge of health and safetyregulations and best practices relevant to mechanical engineeringandmaintenance.
