Mission

The administrator works closely with the ERP project team, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy throughout the migration process. The administrator also performs data cleansing, validation, mapping, and transformation tasks using SQL scripts and tools. The administrator monitors and troubleshoots data migration issues, performs data backup and recovery, and documents data migration procedures and results.

Expected results

As a SQL DBA, you will:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain the SQL server database following best practices and standards
  • Monitor and optimize the database performance, availability, and capacity
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies and perform regular backups and restores
  • Ensure data security and compliance with data protection regulations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any database issues or incidents
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users and other IT staff
  • Collaborate with ERP consultants and developers to support data migration projects from legacy systems to Dynamics Navision
  • Document database policies, procedures, and configurations
Expected profile

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience as a SQL DBA, preferably with Dynamics Navision, SAP Business One or other ERP systems
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL server database administration, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with data migration tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with ERP system architecture and functionality
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or relevant certification

You are passionate and demonstrate expertise in at least one technical area. You’re curious, motivated, and can work solo or as part of a team.

You are pragmatic, autonomous, efficient, and proactive. You enjoy sharing and building.

Other requirements
  • Whilst you’ll be primarily located at the Derby office at times you will be expected to work/travel to Blackburn/Doncaster sites.
  • Full clean UK Driving license

 * The role is advertised on a six-month temporary contract.
