Multi-skilled Engineer needed as a Facilities Assistant for the Preston England Temple.

The operation and maintenance of temple facilities require experienced, skilled, and qualified individuals who are self-motivated and can thrive in an environment of operations and maintenance that support the ordinances of the Temple and enhance the patron experience. We're seeking a dedicated individual to join our maintenance team at the Preston Temple. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the sanctity and functionality of our temple facilities, ensuring that they remain a sacred and uplifting environment for all who enter.

Operation, planned maintenance, and repairs to the following machinery and systems of the Temple and ancillary facilities:

Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning Audio Visual Air extraction Chilled water Low-temperature hot water (Heating boilers) Domestic hot and cold-water systems, including restroom appliances and fixings Lighting (internal and external) Electrical (high, medium, and low voltage) Baptistery circulating systems and water quality Door and window hardware Commercial and domestic laundry washing machines and dryers Commercial and domestic kitchen equipment Workshop tools and equipment External water features Furniture, cabinetry, decorative finishes

Additional responsibilities include:

Project planning and execution Health and Safety compliance First Aid provision Ensuring proper documentation and paperwork processes, such as equipment maintenance, closing out routine computerized preventive maintenance tasks, maintaining as-built drawing notations, and generating and tracking orders Coordinating ongoing maintenance of equipment within the temple, ensuring that sacred ordinance work can be performed without interruption and ideal worshipful conditions are maintained On occasion, this role may require you to oversee cleaning, security, grounds maintenance, and the general upkeep of the temple facilities Completion of 2 years of technical training in a skilled trade or 2 years of completion towards a 4-year college degree in engineering, facilities management, construction, or a related field Two years’ experience and knowledge of physical plant operation and maintenance, as well as several of the other maintenance skilled trades: electrical, electronics, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, general construction, blueprint reading, mechanics, HVAC Fluency in English, familiarity with health and safety regulations, basic computer skills, and any required local licensesements as required by law.
