Due to internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen whereby we are recruiting to the role of a Manufacturing Technician within our Pharmacy Production Unit at Glan Clwyd Hospital.
For this role, we will equally accept applications from candidates who hold current registration with either the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician, or with the General Science Council following completion of the Science Manufacturing Technician qualification.
Candidates who are currently undertaking their qualification and are due to register with either professional body within the next months are also equally welcome to apply.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the jobAs a Manufacturing Technician, main duties of the role will include;
Participation in manufacturing of chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, parental nutrition and radiopharmaceuticals – working to Good Manufacturing Practice principles and utilising aseptic technique. Working within cleanroom environments, upholding high levels of cleanroom behaviour and comportment at all times. Participation in manufacturing of extemporaneous products. Partaking in maintaining the integrity of the cleanroom environment by working in accordance to strict cleaning regimes, as detailed within departmental SOPs. Key involvement with environmental monitoring of controlled areas, ensuring a safe working environment is maintained. Participation in pre-process checking of a variety of products including chemotherapy and over-labelled medicines, following completion of associated training programmes.The role will include aspects of working as an individual, as well a member of our existing Pharmacy Production Unit team.
