We are currently looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join a well-established, family-run SME in Wigan, covering a 9-12month Maternity cover.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial operations, providing strategic financial guidance, and supporting the overall business growth. You will work closely with the team to drive financial performance and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial budgets, and forecasts
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders
  • Oversee cash flow management, budgeting, and financial planning processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Manage tax compliance and reporting activities
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team member
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Day to day duties covering all aspects of Finance
  • Preparing Payroll (submitted through Excel spreadsheets)

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis
  • Experience with financial software and ERP systems.
  • CPA, CMA, or similar certification
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience (or knowledge / understanding) of CAPEX
  • Leadership skills and a supportive nature
  • Confident using and manipulating formulas on Excel

Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm

Benefits

  • Salary of Circa £45k – Fixed Term Contract (negotiable).
