Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Queen Square patient services for a senior Assistant Technical Officer (Band 3).

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to assist the lead clinical pharmacy technician and the pharmacy operations manager with the provision of pharmacy services to patients and staff at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities :o Provide an enhanced pharmaceutical ward stock management Develop and introduce systems to enhance the safe, efficient, and timely provision of medicines management in conjunction with their clinical To review patients, own drugs and access their suitability for re-use against the pharmacy departments standardised Facilitate the dispensary process for discharges, when necessary, to support the achievement of Trust and Department To support the pharmacy dispensary in key operational tasks such as dispensing and posting.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Qualifications

Essential

A General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) recognised qualification for pharmacy support staff a Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent (obtained either in community or hospital) GSCE Maths and English (grades A to C) or equivalent Knowledge of procedures for pharmacy services Knowledge of pharmacy computer systems

HEE MOP modules (in POD assessment and transcribing)

Experience

Experience of dealing with members of the public Ability to work without direct supervision Experience of working in a team
