Siemens Mobility is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader to spearhead our construction and installation project delivery efforts within the rail infrastructure business. As Head of Construction, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful execution of Construction works within our diverse portfolio of rail projects, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and timeline benchmarks. With a strategic mentality and a passion for innovation, you will be responsible for all aspects of construction operations, from project planning and resource allocation to subcontractor management, site supervision and the responsibility of stores, vehicles, and equipment. This role reports directly into the Executive Director of Operations where a reactive and collaborative approach will ensure success. Your role is national, and you’ll need to be available to travel frequently.

You’ll make an impact by

Leading a team of 200 employees with typically the order of 800 resources to site. Fostering solid relationships and demonstrating visible leadership as a key member of the operations leadership team. Operating with improvement and innovation at the heart of your delivery. Being reactive and available to deal with complex challenges and discussions. Driving a safety focussed regional construction function to support the wider Rail infrastructure business. Embedding both industry best practice and innovation into the work of your wider team to ensure consistency, excellence, and improvement. Providing management, maintenance and reporting of critical resource forecasts and requirements for a range of staff including the sourcing and distribution of third-party workers (TPW) Leading the cost effective and safety focussed management of logistics strategy impacting the success and delivery of construction activities.

Your success will be grounded by

Your leadership background in the Rail industry, specifically Rail signalling and site work. Visible experience within construction management within a large organisation. Proven experience in managing a large national team, including the planning and distribution of resource. Experience within a safety critical environment with safety at the heart of your focus. Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in a complex environment. Exceptional ability to listen actively and respond appropriately.
