This is an excellent opportunity for 2024 graduates eager to kickstart their career in Accounting by working with a team of chartered accountants within a practice setting while pursuing their ACCA/ACA qualification.

Responsibilities: As a Graduate Trainee Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial functions of our clients. Your daily duties and responsibilities will include:

Audit Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the planning and execution of financial audits.
  • Conducting substantive testing and analytical review procedures.
  • Verifying the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
  • Collaborating with audit teams to ensure compliance with auditing standards.
  • Preparing audit documentation and work papers.

Accounts Responsibilities:

  • Preparing financial statements for clients, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Performing bank reconciliation and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts.
  • Handling general ledger entries and maintaining financial records.

Tax Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the preparation and filing of tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Assisting in tax planning and compliance activities.
  • Researching tax regulations and staying updated on changes in tax laws.
  • Responding to client queries regarding tax matters.
  • Collaborating with the tax team to ensure accurate and timely submissions.

Client Interaction:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Communicating with clients to gather necessary financial information.
  • Guiding accounting and tax-related matters.
  • Responding to client inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Compliance:

  • Ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring changes in accounting and auditing standards.
  • Supporting the implementation of new accounting and tax regulations.

Team Collaboration:

  • Working collaboratively with other members of the practice.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to discussions.
  • Supporting team members in completing tasks and meeting deadlines.


Requirements

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree classification in a finance-related discipline. (Accounting & Finance, Mathematics, Finance, and Economics)
  • Strong A Level results.
  • A minimum of 5 C's at GCSE.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and thrive in a dynamic work environment.

BenefitsThese positions offer a competitive salary ranging from £21,000 to £24,000, subject to the employer and the candidate's experience. All opportunities come with study support for ACCA/ACA qualifications.
