As a pivotal part of our CIO organisation, this role will transform our approach to data to drive customer centricity and enable innovation including AI and intelligence-led growth. This is an opportunity for a leader to demonstrate their strategic and execution credentials with the potential for share-price level impact.

A bit about the job:

This is a Group Architecture leadership role involving designing a compelling strategy for data through roadmaps, architectural blueprints and technical designs. You will oversee the design and implementation of complex technical solutions, ensuring they meet functional requirements, performance benchmarks, and security standards. At the same time, you will drive innovation and continuous improvement in the architecture design and development processes.

As the leader of the Data Architecture organisation, you will build and inspire a high performing team to successfully achieve these outcomes. You will provide visionary guidance, set strategic objectives and foster a collaborative and high-performance environment. In addition to driving day-to-day operations, you will develop talent and ensure that team members are empowered to achieve their potential.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

A strategic thinker who can translate business goals into actionable architectural plans and solutions. Experience developing and executing long-term architectural roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.

A leader who can grow and run high-performing teams in a dynamic environment with a track record of shaping and implementing architecture transformation that have delivered measurable benefits into organisations. A gifted communicator with excellent interpersonal skills who can inspire and influence cross-functional stakeholders alongside external parties including vendor and supplier relationships.

A deep understanding of technology and enterprise data architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies in-depth. Proficiency in designing and implementing complex, distributed systems using emerging technologies in data and integration, and an excellent understanding of data engineering tools and techniques.

An understanding of the domains of insurance, wealth and retirement, including products, services, regulatory requirements, and market trends. Experience working in a financial services or related sector is highly desirable.

A problem solver with strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root causes, analyse complex issues, and develop pragmatic solutions. Experience in resolving architectural challenges and mitigating technical risks effectively.
