Job summary

We have a team of three secretaries who support the GPs and management with their daily tasks, specifically patient referrals. We are looking for someone who has accurate audio typing skills, can prioritise their workload, and is pro-active in their approach to their work. The successful candidate would join a supportive team of secretaries who would be willing to support you through your induction and beyond.

Main duties of the job

Manageall aspects of a medical secretary role including accurate audio typing andminute taking.

Processurgent and routine patient referrals through the Referral Assessment Services(RAS), monitoring the e-Referral system to ensure referrals have been processedin a timely manner.

Takeminutes at practice meetings, distribute to the relevant teams, and actionwhere necessary.

Monitorand respond to practice emails, disseminating to the appropriateperson/department if needed.

Respondor action Tasks or emails sent via the EMIS system on a daily basis.

Receiveand initiate telephone calls with patient, hospitals, NHS organisations, andother healthcare professionals.

Toprovide audit information for the Practice Manager when requested.

Providecover for colleagues on annual leave or sickness.

Ableto prioritise workload appropriately.

Respondand action tasks/messages from the wider team.

We are a practice of 20,000 patients across two sites, with a mix of GPs, Urgent Care Practitioners, Nurses and HCAs. In addition to this, we have a large reception and administration team.
