An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to join the Therapy Team at Musgrove Park on a permanent basis with the flexibility to offer part time job share.
The successful individual will be expected to work closely alongside other experienced Band 7 Physiotherapists to develop a Specialist Respiratory Outpatient service providing Physiotherapeutic management for patients with chronic respiratory conditions and breathlessness.
This post will work alongside the Acute MDT and the Hospital at Home service to ensure that patients can be facilitated for treatment in the best location for their treatment needs. The post holder will be supported in their own professional development with supervision and training and will be expected to actively participate in the development of others.
This role within the Respiratory Hospital @ Home team has a varied caseload including home visits. Car driver essential and mileage paid.
Main duties of the job
If you're successful, you will be expected to work closely alongside other experienced Band 7 Physiotherapists to develop a Specialist Respiratory Outpatient service providing Physiotherapeutic management for patients with chronic respiratory conditions and breathlessness. You will also work closely alongside the Respiratory Hospital at Home team to deliver acute care in the individuals home.
You will be supported in their own professional development with supervision and training and will be expected to actively participate in the development of others and participate in team study days and teaching.
This role requires a graduate level state-registered Physiotherapist with relevant clinical experience.

Job responsibilities
This post requires a graduate level state-registered Physiotherapist with relevant clinical experience.
Main duties of the role are:
To be responsible for the development and provision of a highly-specialised, evidence-based Physiotherapy service for Respiratory Medicine Outpatients. The scope of the service will incorporate patients primarily with Bronchiectasis, COPD and Asthma but with the scope to incorporate a broader range of conditions including Breathing Pattern Disorders, Interstitial Lung Disease and Neuromuscular disease alongside those with acute respiratory infections. This service will involve some OP clinics, attendance to virtual wards for management of chronic patients, in hospital and domiciliary visits and will involve working with a multitude of other service.
To support the Breathlessness management pathway in Somerset and the development of the Somerset Respiratory Hospital at Home service by attending virtual ward MDT meetings and providing patients with timely access to Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapy Services
Support the inpatient Physiotherapy and Respiratory Medicine Services to facilitate early discharges by providing timely follow-up appointments
Provide clinical and strategic leadership for the Respiratory Physiotherapy outpatient service with responsibilities for safety, quality, training and clinical governance agendas to support the workforce and deliver exceptional care
Provide specialist input and advice to Multi-disciplinary team meeting.

Essential
Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy HCPC Registration Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses related to this post
