To provide support for a young person with Downs Syndrome
· Support is required to enable this young person to access age-appropriate community and leisure activities.
· Promote independence and support to purchase items ensuring transactions are correct.
· Always requires support to keep safe when crossing roads as does not always understand dangers.
· Always requires support with friendships and relationships and staying safe from strangers.
· No personal care support is required as independent.
· Can communicate using Makaton and on occasions using a VOCA, will need encouragement to remain interactive.
 
Hours 3 hours per month

Rates of pay £13.09 per hour.

Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata. Out of pocket expenses will be paid by employer, this includes mileage/fuel costs and all monies for activities etc.  Person Specification
The successful applicant must:
· Have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities.
· Have a high degree of initiative.
· Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised.
· Be flexible.
· Have a happy, positive, and caring nature.
· Respect confidentiality.

Applicants must hold a full and clean driving license and be insured for business use. The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by Northumberland County Council.

Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour

Hours Breakdown:
 3 Hours per month, to be arranged flexibly with employer and when on school holidays can be arranged at differing times. Services
