Are you passionate about driving system efficiency and innovation in financial management and a whizz at using Oracle? At PA Housing, we are seeking a proactive and solution-focused Finance System Administrator to maintain and develop our core finance system (Oracle) and associated software. If you have the Oracle technical expertise and communication skills to lead change effectively and support your colleagues throughout the process, we want to hear from you

You'll have the opportunity to blend the best of both worlds, spending approximately 2-3 days per week in the office with the remainder being from the comfort of your own home. However bear in mind during your probation and training, we may request more office presence to ensure you feel fully supported and equipped for success. Your well-being and confidence in your role are paramount to us, and we're committed to providing the flexibility you need to excel. Of course if you'd prefer to be in the office more, then that is completely fine with us too

This is a fixed term contract running until 31st October 2026.

Your responsibilities...

System General Ledger

  • System Support: Provide day-to-day system support and perform system administration tasks, ensuring SLA compliance and exceptional customer service.
  • Leadership Role: Act as the primary Finance team interface with IT for significant general ledger financial systems issues and enhancement requests.
  • Chart of Accounts Management: Manage the Chart of Accounts and reporting hierarchies across all affected systems.
  • Super-User Role: Perform or delegate the roles of Oracle super-user and spreadsheet server, ensuring all essential system administration tasks meet standards.
  • Team Support: Assist the Finance team in setting up scheme codes, building reports, and implementing enhancements to streamline processes.
  • Troubleshooting & Testing: Investigate system issues through troubleshooting and testing, identifying solutions to minimise service disruption.
  • Process Development: Develop and maintain system business processes, understanding stakeholder and operational needs.
  • System Enhancements: Proactively identify opportunities for system improvements and automation to enhance financial processes.
  • Feedback Process: Establish a feedback mechanism to gather and analyse data, driving continuous system development.

Controls

  • Access Management: Manage access matrices for all Finance Team members to ensure appropriate segregation of duties for each role.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Ensure financial systems documentation is up-to-date, including user guides for development teams.
  • Audit Support: Assist auditors by providing necessary support and ensuring systems comply with PA Financial Regulations.

  • High-Performance Background: Proven experience in a high-performing finance function.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Expertise in using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
  • Technical Comfort: Strong technical acumen in financial software, embodying the role of 'an IT expert in a non-IT role.'
