Working across the Herefordshire portfolio as part of the portfolio leadership team you'll lead and inspire a great team of staff, volunteers and work collaboratively with consultants, specialists and a variety of creative partners whilst ensuring we're giving the best service to audiences every time.

What it's like to work here

This is a 1 year post, and would be great for someone looking to gain experience working across a large portfolio at a higher level of leadership within visitor experience. The Herefordshire portfolio is made up of Berrington Hall, Brockhampton, Croft Castle, The Weir Garden and 7 open access countryside places.

As well as the visitor operation there are a number of exciting projects underway around audiences, gardens, play and accessibility to explore, providing opportunities to learn more about the development and design of core visitor experience.

What you'll be doing

There are a variety of projects you'll be directly involved in with the development of a new flower garden, the creation of large scale wildlife habitats and many partner-led programming projects along with developments to improve accessibility across all places.

You'll be responsible for directly leading on the delivery and development portfolio wide experience programmes, strategic marketing delivery, creative partnership development and growing support through membership retention. You'll lead and support a portfolio wide team made up of two welcome managers, a senior visitor experience officer, programming and partnerships officer and communication and marketing officer and their teams.

an in-depth understanding of visitor operations and high-quality engagement.  ability to engage with our partners and collaborators with ease and confidence.  ability to keep a calm presence at a busy property  proven abilities in leading an operation (including rotas, budgets, and planning across a complex site)  a collaborative leadership style, taking time to support your team and everyone across the portfolio  experience of developing and delivering programmes of events and exhibitions supported by effective marketing campaigns
