The postholder will be responsible for managing the day to day activitieswithin the Ejection Seat Component MROWorkshop(s).


Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance activities areundertaken in accordance with all the requirements of theregulatory approval and the issued Statement of Work/Condition ofSupply in order to assure the output of airworthy aircraftcomponents.


At this level demonstrates a high level of understanding oftactical performance management and the requirement for continuousimprovement. Demonstrates high levels of leadership skills and isan experienced people manager managing multidisciplinary andmultiskilledteams.


Will be responsible for the operational output of the Ejection SeatComponent MRO Workshop under their control in line with agreedcustomer requirements. Post holder will also have responsibilitiesfor the cost and schedule adherence of the component maintenanceactivities.

  • CompletionofactivitiesEnsure all Part 145 activities are appropriately documented andairworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT /paper based). Ensure all Part 145 activities are performed bysuitably qualified experienced and authorised personnel. Ensure theintegration of Part 145 activity within the business including theengagement of key stakeholders at all stages of the process.Provide support and guidance to theteam(s).

  • Procedure/standardsManage the Part 145 team(s) compliance with the Part 145 Expositionits associated procedures and standards and any other Companyprocedures and standards as applicable. Identify propose andimplement change as required whilst ensuringcompliance.

  • SafetyManagementSystemPromote the application of Human Factors Error Management RiskManagement and Safety Assurance within the Part 145 team(s)together with the proactive analysis mitigation and management ofHazards.

  • ManagementSystemAssuranceEnsure Part 145 team(s) activities are compliant with theAM&S Governance and Assurance framework. Ensure ProcessConfirmations and independent assurance audits are supported byPart 145 personnel and integrated within/across teams. Manage theresponse to audit findings in a timely and appropriate manner andprovide information into the relevant reviews. Generate andimplement effective improvements within/across teams to overcomeany noncompliance and monitoreffectiveness.

  • Statutory/ Regulatory & LegislativerequirementsAble to demonstrate a good understanding and application of therelevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework and ensureany Regulatorydriven changes are implemented within the Part 145team(s) activities.   • Maintainingairworthiness by resolving faults and maintenance issues includingconfiguration management and by certifying the serviceability (orotherwise) of aircraft components and the signing of appropriatecertifyingdocumentation

  • Ensurethat all contracted maintenance has been properly carried out inaccordance with the Statement of Work using the AMC documentationset as defined within the current Maintenance OrganisationExposition using the latest approved technicalinformation.

  • Ensuringcost and schedule adherence to the Workshop plans through EarnedValue Management. Resolve any issues or escalate as required.Report on any impact to the wider deliveryprogramme.

  • Maintainingthe Component Maintenance Capability List for the Workshop iaw MOEAMC s. Ensure that ONLY items declared on the Capability list areworked on in theworkshops.

  • Manageshift and resource plans to ensure agreed delivery targets can beaccomplished within the requirements of the regulatory framework byensuring that staff are sufficiently competent and approved for themaintenance tasks allocated tothemwithin the shiftplan.
  • Ensurepersonal & teams task authorisation for working on aircraftcomponents in accordance with AMC requirements aremaintained

  • Responsiblefor the workplace standards in the workshop environment to ensureall MAI SHE and workplace policies are adhered to and maintained.Areas for improvement areidentified highlighted andactioned.

  • Responsiblefor meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium termthrough the supervision of others. Progress reporting againstdelivery targets to management. Applying the relevant analyticalskills for the tactical evaluation and resolution of operationalproblems utilising the required competent personnel and theappropriate approveddata

  • Mayhold local authorisations and competency certifications asauthorised by the Maintenance Manager. May have Certificationprivilege issued in accordance with MOE and associated AMCs

  • Provideguidance and leadership to team members through on the job trainingand formal assessment processes. Demonstrates sound andcomprehensive communication and people management skills in orderto exchange complicatedinformation.

  • Responsiblefor ensuring robust adherence to the Service Safety Hazard controlsrelating to the contributory causes to the output ofincorrectly/incompletely maintainedcomponents

  • Undertakefault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards and for found faultsduringmaintenance.

  • Abilityto scope and carry out independent and vitalinspections.

  • Undertakesupport tasks within the Aircraft or component maintenance facilitywhich are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and AMCprocedures (e.g. oversight checks control of tooling / testequipmentetc.)


Qualifications
  • Indepth knowledge of the workings of Ejection Seat Maintenance andthe importance of regulation and compliance with procedures in asafety criticalenvironment
  • 5years practical experience applying aviation safety standards andoperatingpractices.
  • 2years relevant work experience as an Operator within the aircraftmaintenance componentenvironment.
  • Excellentplanning and expediting knowledge and skills and can demonstrategood experience and planningsystems.
  • Requiresgood IT literacy skills and knowledge of Digital maintenancedocuments and ERPsystems.
  • Thisperson would be seen as a competent individual in componentmaintenance activities be able to support the processes proposeimprovements and manage those improvements into the daytodayrunning of the operation.
  • Musthave a working knowledge of ITAR/EAR regulations and of Classifiedequipment.
  • Experienceleading a team in a maintenance operation working independently andcoaching maintenanceprofessionals.
  • DrivingLicense(UK)
  • NVQ 3 Award in aircraft maintenance or its equivalent is desirablebut notessential.

Excellent planningand expediting knowledge and skills and can demonstrate goodexperience and planning systems. Requires good IT literacy skillsand knowledge of Digital maintenance documents and ERP systems.This person would be seen, as a competent individual in componentmaintenance activities, be able to support the processes, proposeimprovements and manage those improvements into the day-to-dayrunning of the operation. Must have a working knowledge of ITAR/EARregulations and of Classified equipment. Experience leading a teamin a maintenance operation, working independently and coachingmaintenance professionals. Driving License (UK) NVQ 3 Award inaircraft maintenance or its equivalent is desirable but notessential.
