Job summary

Our Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) Team are expanding and seeking to recruit a Band 4 Urology Navigator Assistant into our busy FDS team, to work alongside both our clinical and non-clinical teams, to provide the highest possible standards to our patients and within our administrative services. The individual should be a highly efficient and organised individual, who is punctual, able to work to deadlines and able to multi task within a very busy office environment. Previous experience is desirable.

Main duties of the job

To work alongside and support the Urology FDS Navigator to manage a full and comprehensive administrative service for the FDS Urology Nurse, Urology consultants and the urology teams. To act as the first point of contact, for service users. To monitor the 28 day pathway and ensure that the patient is tracked and supported through this, escalating to the nursing and consultant when appropriate. Coordinate and allocate work within the admin team to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the administrative function.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Manage Urology FDS diary and provide administrative support, meeting on a regular 1:1 basis. Maintain an overview of the consultants/Nurse' timetable to ensure full utilisation of clinic capacity according to the medical teams availability. Escalate risk issues to Senior Management Team. To ensure that all electronic/paper filing is carried out by the team on a regular basis, ensuring these are tidy with all correspondence filed appropriately by the team. Manage new referrals and printing/distributing to the Team. Manage follow up pending lists. Reviewing (Past) clinic arrivals/outcomes ensuring all actions have been completed on PAS Regularly reviewing/booking and validating from FDS Nurse clinic lists Tracking and chasing of results/diagnostics/patient updates Review future clinics to ensure utilised, highlighting any unutilised/capacity issues Support typing and booking of appointments Supporting and deputising for the Urology FDS Navigator when there is leave/sickness Supporting both the Care Group Support Manager/s and Support Specialty Coordinators as required Person Specification
