Our projects range in value from £5k to £15m, taking the role of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on various schemes, and supporting our valued Tier 1 contractor clients in a subcontractor and off-site manufacturing capacity.

Role Purpose

This role will involve working as a team of electricians working on a number of industrial and water industry programmed of work. Work will be completed across (but not limited to) the Welsh Water region.

The Role

Contracted to 40hrs per week Monday to Friday. Paid hourly, with overtime paid.

Paid for your travel time door to door.

There will be an expectation of lodging away from home in hotels. Dinner allowance and inflated pay rates are given for these occasions.

  • To be responsible for completing electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and Bridges Electrical Safety Rules and Essential Standards
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to
  • Ensure that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the project’s quality plan and inspection and test plans
  • To follow and actively promote the STAR dynamic risk assessment and to be empowered to stop work should unsafe circumstances arise
  • To coach and mentor Electrical Improvers and Apprentices
  • Promote and demonstrate the Bridges’ values when dealing with peers, staff, customers and clients
  • Promote positive health and wellbeing amongst their peers
  • To act in a professional manner and be an ambassador for Bridges, supporting the business goals and maintaining the company’s positive reputation

Requirements

  • Experience as an approved Electrician
  • Experience within water / construction industry
  • Industrial and/or panel wiring experience (desirable)
  • Able to manage own and others workload with minimal assistance from Project Managers in delivering safe profitable projects
  • ECS gold card
  • Appropriate City & Guilds trade Qualification
  • Fitness to work medical
  • Emergency first aid or First Aider
  • Full UK driving licence
