As an Internet of Things Operations Specialist, you will implement our clients Internet of Things and Internet of Things Move, Add, Change, And Delete playbooks. Youll be relentless in protecting network security and achieving our clients KPIs, and youll be vigilant for opportunities and threats because of your expertise and commitment to service. You will be a technical expert: both knowledgeable and resourceful.

This job is part of the Digital Buildings Engineering function, which is responsible for the creation and delivery of strategic programs related to networked devices, digital engineering and systems modeling. This is an innovative and developing field.

Youll need to be able to:

  • Contribute to large cross-functional projects or programs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system service failures by identifying and analyzing the situation and providingcorrective actions.
  • Develop, install, and test new network hardware and software releases, and system upgrades.
  • Evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
  • Monitor systems activities and fine tune system parameters and configuration to optimize performanceand ensure security.
  • Understand how network hardware and software systems work.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of Networked Systems Design and Implementation.
  • Understand how servers are employed and maintained.
  • Serve as a technical lead for projects with complex requirements.
  • Provide advice on decisions and priorities regarding systems architecture.
  • Engage with application development teams on current infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate existing solutions and infrastructure and provide recommendations.
  • Approve system designs and function as a project lead.
  • Manage and maintain the hardware, software, security, and connectivity to the Internet as well asmiddleware components.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individualand department objectives.
  • Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-disciplineteams.
  • Contribute to new products, processes, standards, and/or operational plans in support of achievingfunctional goals.
  • Communicate difficult and complex ideas clearly and effectively.

  • Youll help non expert clients and managers understand the requirements, risks and opportunities inherent in a digitally connected portfolio, including the limitations of installed technology.
  • Youll understand the SLAs and KPIs youre responsible for and how you are going to achieve them.
  • Youll track progress closely, and propose interventions to improve effectiveness when performance deviates from forecast.
  • Youll help your programme manager understand how they can make best use of available resources, money, and available technology and techniques to achieve them.
  • Youll be known as an innovator not a blocker.
  • Youll understand the theoretical underpinnings of our clients internet of things strategy and initiatives, and will use your creativity to design and implement ways of delivering it.
  • Youll focus on delivering the best possible effect with existing technology and techniques.


Essential/Desirablequalifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BSc/BEng) in a scientific or engineering field.
  • Masters degree (MSc/MEng/MSt) in a digital or IT field. (Desirable)
