The shift pattern is Tuesday - Thursday (18.75 hours).

(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

To provide secretarial and administrative support to Consultants and Clinicians in the Renal Dialysis Centre at QEUH. To act as a focal point for the provision of help and advice to staff members, patients and professionals in relation to service enquiries and to co-ordinate the patient's pathway. The post of medical secretary requires the following to provide an efficient and effective service.

Essential:

Advanced keyboard skills and knowledge of audio typing systems with previous NHS experience essential Confident dealing with telephone, email and face to face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives/carers, providing basic information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate to ensure positive patient and staff experience. Good knowledge of medical terminology To have the ability to work independently and use your own initiative To have the ability to organise and prioritise workload To have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals

Desirable:

Awareness of Trust Policies and Procedures Knowledge of a range of patient administration systems
