Theright candidate needs to have experience working in the field ofmetrology and calibration activities preferably within a UKASaccredited laboratory.

We are looking for anexperienced Calibration engineer to join our UKAS lab inChesterfield.

Responsibilitiesinclude;

  • Responsible to the CalibrationBusiness Unit Manager shall ensure that Electrical laboratoryactivities are carried out expediently efficiently and safely atall times.
  • Perform the calibrations in theLaboratory or at Customer premises asnecessary.
  • Sign UKAS Certificates (ifApplicable).
  • Assist with maintaining laboratorymaintenance.
  • Produce and maintain Laboratoryprocedures and uncertainty budgets.
  • Use thepreferred software in accordance with company procedures to ensurethe correct processing of items through theLaboratory.
  • Liaise with customers to understandand satisfy their requirements in a professionalmanner.
  • Engage in laboratoryprogression.
  • Maintain electronic filingsystem.
  • Any other general calibration /laboratory duties.
  • Be aware of and comply withthe company Health and Safety policies at alltimes.
  • Be aware of and comply with the companyQuality Manual at all times.
  • Commitment toImpartiality &Confidentiality


Experience

  • Education/ training in Electrical Engineering.
  • Relevanttraining in metrology and calibrationactivities.
  • Experience working in a UKASaccredited laboratory.
  • Experience workingwithin the field of metrology.
  • Understanding ofBS ISO17025.


SkillSet

  • Hands oncalibration experience for Electrical (Digital MultimetersElectrical Installation Instruments Pressure InstrumentsTemperature Instruments).
  • Ability to review andadopt best practice and seek out continuousimprovement.
  • Able to train coach and mentorother members of the team to support thelaboratory.
  • IT Literate including MicrosoftOffice.
  • Keen to learn newskills.
  • Work well within a team andindividually.
