About the Role:

GSL Education are actively seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for immediate placement at a client school in Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire. This role involves providing personalised support to a child with additional needs, ensuring their safety and welfare, and supporting their learning journey.

About the School:

At our client school, we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment that empowers children to achieve their full potential. The school aims to establish a stimulating environment where the learning process can thrive. A range of experiences are offered, flexible enough to account for individual differences in how children acquire knowledge and understanding. The school's core values are positivity, ambition, respect, and kindness.

Main Purpose:

  • To support a child with additional needs on a 1:1 basis.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of the child.
  • Support the child's learning in school.

Key Activities:

  • Work with the child and school staff to access the curriculum.
  • Create a rich and diverse programme.
  • Assist the child in maintaining acceptable behaviour standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with school staff to maintain the welfare of the child.
  • Enable effective learning to take place.

Key Decisions:

  • Take immediate action in line with school policies in the event of an emergency incident.

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • The post is subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Have prior experience in a support role within a school or a child-related setting.
  • Exhibit a compassionate and professional attitude, with enthusiasm for assisting with personal care for students.
  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Have legal right to work in the UK.
