Job overview

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner following professional codes of conduct and ethics carrying a varied highly specialist paediatric caseload. The caseload will include children with highly complex and co-morbid needs specialising in the assessment and intervention of sensory processing issues and relating these to educational, behavioural or social/emotional concerns.

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day design and delivery of the assessment and intervention and to work on a consultative basis for other professional groups both intra and inter disciplinary and across health and Local Authority services.

Clinical activities will take place primarily in special school settings such as Ysgol Plas Bron Dyffryn and Ysgol Tir Morfa. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide ongoing training for school based staff, parents and families. The post holder will support the learning and development of others including colleagues.

The post holder will contribute to the design and development within the wider team and will contribute specialist skills to service developments within the organisation. This will include attending meetings and leading in, audit, evidence based practice research and service evaluation. 

The post holder will be involved in the ALN process and will contribute to the development of Individual Development Plans (IDP).
