As a Registered Nurse Degree Apprentice (RNDA) you will:

Have a strong desire and passion to access a career as a Registered Nurse Be employed full-time for the duration of the apprenticeship Have your University tuition fees paid by UCLH Be able to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to practice as a Registered Nurse, on successful completion of the programme. Be expected to work shifts on a rostered basis (days/nights/weekends/some Bank Holidays) Be offered a job at UCLH as a Registered Nurse upon successful completion of programme Have access to tailored support from the Nurse Educators within the Apprenticeship team.

Main duties of the job

Registered nurse Degree Apprentices will follow a structured annual programme plan, managing dividing their time between periods of academic tuition with the University, on clinical placements in a variety of clinical settings across UCLH and fulfilling duties as a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant. During these periods, the apprentice is expected to maintain academic learning and meet academic submission deadlines with the support both the programme team and Nurse Educators at UCLH.

On successful completion of the programme, the registered nurse apprentice will achieve a Level 6 BSC (Hons) Degree in nursing and will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to practice as a registered nurse in their chosen field.

This is a full-time fixed term position for the duration of the programme - typically 3 years. 

This truly is an excellent opportunity to enter the nursing profession. Applicants therefore must have a clear desire, determination and discipline to access and pursue a career in nursing.

Please note – to be eligible for this apprenticeship, applicants must demonstrate the following:

-Provide evidence of English and Maths GSCE qualification grade A-C/4 or above (or equivalent such as Maths & English Functional skills level 2).

-Evidence of academic level 3 (or higher) qualifications (such as A levels, BTEC Level 3, degree).

-Provide a statement of comparability for international qualifications where applicable.

-Have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 years by the start of programme.

-Have permission (visa) to stay and work in England for the duration of the apprenticeship programme.
